About

I suppose I should be telling you About why this blog came to be. But first you should know About how I came to be.

In a nutshell, I grew up on the West Coast and have made my life there for the past 29 years. I have an incredible family, amazing friends, an adoring horse and a career I love. My favourite smells are rain on hot asphalt and stationery stores and my favourite feelings are sneezing and cleaning my ears. And yes, I’m honest (get used to it). My dream does not involve money or “things” but rather love, family and happiness for myself and others. I don’t believe in fate or that things happen for a reason. And no, I’m not a cynic but rather an optimist trapped in a realist’s brain. I’m learning to celebrate my failures and that perfection is really not for me. I believe in choice.

And choice is what brings me to the About of this blog. It’s true. I’m moving to Winnipeg. And if you are like every other person that I have told, you must be wondering one thing.

Why?

Because I believe in family, adventure, travel, opportunities but most of all, love. And no minus-40 degrees, over-sized mosquitoes, or dumpster-sized potholes can stop me.

And that is where this chapter of my life begins.

Love, love, love your blog! Welcome to the Winnipeg blogosphere! I’m wondering – would you let me interview you for my blog? We can show the world there are plenty of sane people moving here. Email me and let me know! Thanks :)

Wow….reading your blog is like recapping our own recent move from Van out to Pegcity! The only big difference is that we were still in Van for the final games of the playoffs so we got to see the riots…and since we lost you at least didn’t miss much. Anyways, great to see so many West Coast transplants manage to survive out here so hopefully we’ll survive as well and so far, we actually love it out here but I’m saying this before going through a full prairie winter so we’ll see :)

When you’re back in Van, if you have time & if it’s your style, be sure to try Chronic Tacos (at Main & Cambie or West 4th & Burrard) as it was the best new fast-food with fresh ingredient option and something I miss on an almost daily basis. Looking forward to more posts!
